Theatre Embassy

Areas of Activity

Our vision for theatre is broad, we work and learn from all forms of the performing arts. That is why we have divided areas of cooperation into:

Cultural Management

In order to provide artistic development with a solid foundation, it is very important that good financial and organizational preconditions are created. This is often not the forte of talented artists. To ensure that our partner organizations become increasingly stronger in this area as well, Theatre Embassy regularly sends out professionals in the field of cultural management, production and organization. With the knowledge and experience regarding management, we strengthen and increase the independence of artists and enable them to gain insight into work areas that previously did not interest them.

Theatre for Education

This is about using the power of theatre as a means of transmission. The live delivery of messages has been around for centuries. It is still a powerful way to bring an audience face to face with issues or themes you want to change or bring awareness to. This includes issues of violence, water, children’s Rights, environment, and war conflicts.

Theatre Art

Our profession has a strong intrinsic value. It is therefore important to stimulate and maintain the quality of the theatre profession on a technical and artistic level. When we invest in the quality of theatre, we involve all art disciplines such as singing, visual arts, dance, literature, media, light, sound, play, etc. The higher the development of professional theatre, the better the quality of the theatre. This includes the sections where students, apprentices, seniors and volunteers can participate. Theatre Embassy, therefore, supports the development of talent, artistry and the ability to shape the imagination.

Ritual Forms

The roots of our theatre profession lie in performances and events, performed for and by the community. The diversity of these rituals, dances, performances or other cultural expressions is enormous. They fall under our Intangible Heritage and are under pressure from popular contemporary culture and the modern developments of communication. Although they are often placed in the corner of tourist entertainment, they remain, in principle, the carriers of the wealth of cultural knowledge. Theatre Embassy draws attention to this wealth of cultural heritage and supports these ethnic theatre traditions as they continue to develop and evolve.

Theatre Processions

By working on the street, we lower the threshold for the public to see and experience theatre. The parade or procession is also a traditional form in which we tell stories or convey images at unexpected moments to a wide audience. In parades, you work out above the crowd and use short and clear images. In a time of zapping, computer games and video clips, the street parade has gained in quality and strength.

Theatre for Education
