¿Hay alguién Ahi?, is a montage performance of 13 solo performances in Peru with the theme of ghosts and spirits, based on three legends. The actors from our partner organization Teatro Deçiertopicante, 5 women, 7 men and a director have worked hard on this for three months.

In the first traditional legend from the Andes region, flying, screaming heads appear at night and suck the blood and the soul out of the bodies of people. This legend of the flying heads comes from the time of the Incas and tells that the heads are from the animal and human sacrifices that the Incas offered to the gods long ago. In the second legend, a woman, whose fiancé mysteriously dies, is accused of being a witch and is haunted by spirits who take the body from flies. The third legend is the life story of two women, a Chilean and a Peruvian, who independent of each other survive the times of the dictatorship in Chile and the terrorism in Peru. What remains of their lives is insanity, despair and the spirits of their husbands, who were both murdered for political reasons. Through the characters in the performance, these stories are connected and presented as a collage. Making a piece, absent of a storyline with a beginning, middle and end, yet communicating through the characters and images, was a new experience for the actors. The project was an important training in learning to make theatre performances from material that has come from improvisations.
