FEAR AND COURAGE

Name: Fear and Courage
Location: Betlehem - Palestinian Territory - Asia

During her internship in Bethlehem by our partner Hope Flowers School, theatre maker/teacher Rebecca Schoon gave drama lessons to schoolchildren. She also made a performance with children from class 5 and 6, and another with youths from refugee camp Deheisha.

Hope Flowers School is a partner of Theatre Embassy since 2005. They are the only partner organization with the primary target group being school-going children. This arose from a theatrical peace project in 2005. The performance, for class 5 and 6, was called Fear and Courage, and was about overcoming fear by working with each other and through gaining strength from friendship and not from violence. The other show was called To Kneel or Not to Kneel: Rebecca and the youths from Deheisha Camp examined what real leadership means.
