SWDPA is a multicultural theatre group. It aims to renew the available theatre in Sudan and to play a role in the establishment and development of the country. The group consists of 14 theatre makers and actors with different ethnic backgrounds. Various tribes and regions are represented. Since its founding, the group is led by one of the most beloved directors/actors in Sudan, Said Solal. Through Said's inspiring and groundbreaking way of working, Mobile Workshop delivers experimental and innovative works. The use of new media, music and sound design is combined with traditional forms of movement, dance, sounds and languages.
In 2009, Theatre Embassy and Mobile Workshop will work together for the first time in a project on the forced migration of people from the city of Halfa.
