early digit 8 in South Peruvian desert
Miculla, 31 Oktober 2008
Close to Tacna (22 kilometers) are the San Francisco de Miculla Petroglyphs. The drawings are of dancing, fighting and people hunting animals. The age of the petroglyphs is a point of debate with age estimates varying between 500 AC and 1445 AC. The carvings are of all different sizes and are on the surface of red silica rocks. Across the site you can find the remains of an old Inca road and a suspended rope bridge takes you across the dry river bed.
